Troubleshooting
Start with the simple checks before changing calibration or Android settings.
No pressure reading
Confirm that the phone or tablet actually has a barometric pressure sensor. GPS altitude, weather-app pressure and a pressure sensor are different things. Marine Barometer needs the hardware sensor for live barometer and altimeter operation.
Logging will not start or files are unavailable
Open MENU → SETUP and choose or reauthorize the Marine Barometer log folder. Android can revoke or lose remembered Storage Access Framework permissions after device or app changes.
Background logging stops
Android battery management varies by device. If background logging is being stopped, check that Marine Barometer is allowed to run in the background and is not being aggressively battery-restricted. When the app is deliberately logging, its adaptive ECO scheme minimizes wake time, but Android still controls whether scheduled work is permitted.
The graph shows a sudden pressure jump after a drive
That is often elevation rather than weather. Pause the logging session before leaving the reference elevation and resume it when you return.
The Tide Clock differs from today's tide table
That is expected over time. The Tide Clock is a traditional fixed-period phase instrument, not a harmonic tide-prediction engine. Reset it from the nearest known HIGH or LOW tide when closer agreement matters.
The Barometer does not agree with a trusted nearby reference
Check that the reference elevation is correct, then calibrate against an independent current QNH/barometer reading. Do not use Marine Barometer's own output as its calibration reference.
